who uses rapid fire rifles?

Q: Is there a use for the rapid fire rifles other than used by crime? Are they included in the gun law as legal weapons?

A: do you mean semi auto firearms, which will fire once for each pull of the trigger (no matter how fast you pull it) or fully automatic weapons that fire until you release the trigger? Full auto firearms are extremely expensive, and you have to go through a very extensive background investigation, be fingerprinted, get a letter from the head of the local law enforcment for your area stating that you are ok to get one, then if you pass the investigation (which can take anywhere from 3 months to a year in some cases) you buy a tax stamp from the federal govenrment, and you can pick up your weapon. But, it must be stored in a manner approved by BATFE and you may be inspected by BATFE at least once a year to make sure you comply. Semi auto firearms are legal, but just like with any firearm, you are supposed to be a legal, law abiding citizen, and be of the proper age before you can legally own or buy one. If you want to stop criminals from getting them, add 10 years to any prison term if they have a firearm illegally. I use "rapid fire" semi auto firearms in competitions, for fun target shooting with my family and friends, and just for my own enjoyment. I am a legal citizen, law abiding, (I'm a retired cop) and I have spent a lifetime in the outdoors hunting, target shooting, hiking, back packing, camping and traveling. I always have a firearm with me. AND, you are mis informed. Most criminals want a handgun that they can easily conceal, not a rifle which is very difficult to conceal. Most criminals steal or buy cheap in expensive firearms. If you want to stop crime, don't blame an inanimate object like a firearm. Blame the punks and criminals that don't care about laws, or respect human life. Start removing the criminals from the streets, Stop placing them in prisons where they get 3 hot meals a day, a bed, weights to bulk up with, color tv and cable channels etc etc etc. Start putting criminals who kill, to death. As soon as people realize that they will be put to death if they kill, they will stop killing. Bring back chain gangs and make all prisoners work raising produce and livestock to feed themselves with. This will save tax payers billions of dollars, and it will make the bad guys think twice about ever committing a crime and going back to prison if they have to work 6 days a week building roads, cleaning ditches etc. And then IF they behaved all week, give em movies on their day off. If they caused trouble, work em another day. Treat them like the scum they are, and they will very quickly learn to stay out of trouble. A firearm is a tool. Just like a hammer, it can be used the wrong way. Take away all guns, like they have in europe and asia etc, and violent crime sky rockets because the bad guys know that the citizens are unarmed and helpless. Arm the citizens and make it ok to shoot an intruder in your home, or a criminal who attacks you, and criminals will move on to other less dangerous occupations!!
