Q:
A: As a climbing instructor, I've encountered this before. Most XL harnesses tap out at 41 - 44" waists. The way to get around this is to go with a full body, fall protection harness. This will easily handle a 50" waist. DBI Sala makes harnesses with front attachment points at waist height (be careful as some mfg's make front rings at chest height). You may be able to get a rescuers harness to fit (maybe). Good luck. Additional: Note that the BD Focus Speed XL as mentioned by others does not go to 50"
